Less searching.
More shared context.

A workspace concept that brings projects, tasks and information together, designed to make the next step easier to see.

01 / The opportunity

An overview of the work.
A clearer next step.

The design question

Consider how a team could see the important parts of its day in one place, without having to piece together project and task information.

The starting direction

Use a clear information hierarchy to connect the overview with the detail. Give everyday tasks and useful context their own space.

A design hypothesis to explore—not a finding from completed user research.

02 / The design direction

Every detail.
A reason to be there.

Three ideas behind this visual direction. Each would need to be explored and tested in a real product context.

Make the overview useful

Explore an entry point that brings project information and tasks into the same view. The aim is to help a team identify what deserves attention before opening the details.

A focused project overview

Separate levels of detail

Use a persistent navigation area, a main overview and smaller information panels. Each area would have a specific job, reducing the need to make every item equally prominent.

Clear task organisation

Make status understandable

Pair visual summaries with task-level context. A future interface should explain labels, time periods and states rather than expecting a chart or a colour to tell the whole story.

Readable information hierarchy

03 / A proposed journey

See the bigger picture.
Find the next action.

A proposed workflow to explore in a future prototype. The dashboard image is illustrative; its charts and task rows are not live business data.

  1. Review the overview

Start with a focused summary of projects, outstanding work and items that need attention.

  2. Open the right context

Move into a project or task to understand ownership, relevant information and the current state.

  3. Move the work forward

Explore a clear update or next action, then show how that change is reflected in the shared view.

04 / What comes next

A direction to test.
Not a result to claim.

A useful next step would be a focused prototype and a review with the people who would use it. These are the questions this concept leaves open.

Questions for a future prototype

  • Can a team member identify the work that needs attention without interpreting an unexplained chart?
  • Is ownership clear when moving from the overview to an individual task?
  • How should permissions, empty states and conflicting updates affect the workflow?
